Flagler Beach
It was the 80s and Flagler Beach was still largely undeveloped. Paul recieved a call to view a site with potential retail and apartment project on A1A, he drove through the hammock region and past Marine Land where he had also done design work. The coastline at that point was largely undeveloped, and much of the beach area was unbuilt upon. In fact, upon reaching the site there were only a few isolated buildings along A1A, and a curious boat wrecked into the sand dunes a few lots away. Very picturesque it seems as it was on the cover of a famous Jimmy Buffet album.
The lot was small, and the clients demands overwhelmed the site with retail shops being located downstairs and a large apartment upstairs. The building was frame construction with a plaster exterior surface, and through the years had not been well maintained. Today the building is divided into 4 ocean front rental units, and has been popular as a tourist destination.
